'm
going to let you in on a little secret — the brain that
God gave you is the most awesome mechanism in the known universe.
For one, it's been estimated that the average brain has within it the
ability to produce between 100,000 and 1,000,000 different chemicals, each
capable of reacting by itself, or in combination with others, for the accomplishment
of some purpose.
Second, within its three pounds, give or take a few ounces, are about
ten billion individual nerve cells or neurons. That's about two and a half
times as many cells as there are people on this planet. Implanted within
those cells are more than one thousand billion billion molecules — that's
a ten followed by twenty zeros.
Now that's already impressive, but here's the one that is, if you’ll
forgive the pun, mind-blowing.
Because each neuron can interact with other neurons in not just one
but in many ways, it's been estimated that the number of possible interconnections
among your brain’s neurons may be as many as ten with eight hundred zeros
following it. That's about nine times the total number of subatomic particles
in the entire universe. Indeed, for a computer to contain as many “bits”
as your brain, it would have to be somewhere between a quarter and a third
of a mile high and as large as the state of Texas.
And your brain is the miracle it is regardless of the color of your
skin, the religion you profess, your gender, or the background from which
you came. And don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Nobody, but NOBODY,
is better equipped than you to think something through to a sound conclusion.
It's a matter of desire and practice. Not one of sufficiency of equipment.
Think about it. |
